Fishermans Soup

This is dish can be served as a whole meal with some nice bread.
Ingredients
- 5 pounds carp, or any combination of fish you like
- 8 cups water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 pound onion
- 3 teaspoons paprika
- 2 carrots
- 1 celery stalk
- 3 tomatoes, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
Directions
1. When buying the fish, ask your fishmonger to remove the bones and skin, and cut into 6 inch pieces. Make sure to get the skin and bones as well.
2. In a large pot, pour water, add skin and bones, fish heads, 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon paprika. Cook for 30 minutes. Remove all fish parts, leaving you with a fish stock.
3. Peel onions, carrots and wash celery. Place in stock and cook together with tomatoes and pepper, for 30 minutes.
4. Remove vegetables, puree, and put back in stock. Season to taste.
5. In a wide shallow pot place fish pieces and pour stock over them. Add as little water as you need to just cover the pieces.
6. Boil, add paprika, and simmer for 25 minutes. Do not stir so as not to break the fish pieces.
7. If you like, you can add fish eggs and cook for 5 more minutes.
