Buttermilk Cheddar Biscuits

Little biscuits full of cheddar-goodness!
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup cold butter
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
Directions
1. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cayenne. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cheese and toss.
2. Stir in buttermilk just until moistened.
3. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead until firm. Pat or roll to 1" thickness; cut with a floured 2-1/2-in. biscuit cutter.
4. Place 1" apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 425F until golden brown. Serve warm.
